Overview
The degree programme provides students with knowledge and competencies in political-administrative, economic, statistical, legal and managerial disciplines aim for comprehensive understanding of innovation policies and strategies within public and private organizations. Graduates will also apply the acquired knowledge and skills when managing or helping to manage the planning process, the public policies implementation and evaluation process as well as regulation and negotiation process. Students are also provided with tools and skills to manage citizenship activation process both in face-to-face and virtual interactions.
The educational path includes basic course units in science of public management and public policies in order to supply a wide range of competencies required by administration, conceived as organizations, and explain their modus operandi. This is the reason why, along with the above-mentioned course units, other disciplines are also involved in the educational path. For example, economics trains to use a development and planning perspective, whilst law of public administration and European Union law help to develop communication skills within globalized environments. Finally, other course units aim at providing fundamental tools to analyse opinion-forming process and collective decision-making process and to acquire skills to collect and analyse useful information for planning and assessment.
The educational offer provides a common educational path and, only for some of the course units, it is broken down into two curricula: European Governance and Public Governance.
The ‘European Governance’ curriculum provides students with crucial knowledge of European private law and EU policies for local development. Besides, other course units concerning the historical and political fields aimed at applying the acquired skills to the dynamics affecting the European area.
The ‘Public Governance’ curriculum focuses on performances and services evaluation and on labour law in public administration. Both the above-mentioned disciplines and the historical and legal ones aim at providing thorough knowledge of the main features of public administration, its relationship with citizens and the key issues concerning organization and planning of health protection, consumers and users protection and other services.

Career opportunities
Graduates will be able to work as executive officers or consultants in public administration, monitoring and evaluation services, legislative assemblies, trade associations, consultancy firms, research institutes, companies or associations cooperating with public administration. Besides, graduates will be able to analyse, plan and support decision-making processes as well as public policies implementation and evaluation processes.
