You can often get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Overview
The Master’s Degree in Modern Languages for International Communication and Cooperation at the University of Padova is a two-year course that covers five main areas of competence: translation, language, literature and culture, translation technology, special languages and translation/language service provision. Lectures and classes are held in a variety of languages, including Italian, English, French, German, Russian and Spanish.
Career opportunities
A Master graduate in Modern Languages for International Communication and Cooperation
- has a high level of language-specific linguistic, sociolinguistic, communicative, cultural and transcultural knowledge in at least two working languages over and above her/his first language(s);
- can not only handle the actual meaning transfer phase between two languages, but also masters all the strategic, methodological and thematic competences that come into play before, during and following the transfer phase – from document analysis to final quality control procedures;
- has the knowledge and skills to implement present and future translation technologies within the translation process;
- has the methodology and skills to translate special language texts in areas s/he has studied in detail such as science and technology, law, economics and sociology;
- is in a position to offer translation and, more generally, language services at a professional level from client-provider relationships through project management to quality assurance.
