Overview

The course builds, on the base of the solid preparation given by the undergraduate course, advanced knowledge about agricultural systems preparing highly skilled professionals able to use their broad range of competences to interpreter, describe and solve, also in an innovative way problems connected with agriculture with a major emphasis on relationships between production techniques and environment. The course gives also a deep understanding and knowledge and the ability to manage problems connected with crop production and protection, and agricultural enterprises management. To better satisfy the stakeholders’ needs the program is articulated into 2 different levels. The first one is aimed to give students base information in the fields of Agricultural economy and politics, agronomy, plant genetics, soil fertility and plant nutrition, crop physiology and mechanization. The second level is more specific and aimed to give specific technical skills on horticulture, husbandry, integrated pest management, land and water management, professional evaluation and agricultural, environmental and land planning law

Career opportunities

The graduate can perform planning, management, control and coordination activity on agricultural production systems in order to satisfy market and consumer needs in terms of quality security and safety of produce. He is able to minimize inputs used in the system preserving the environment, not only in the food production chain but also as regard as landscape and historical and cultural contexts. He is also able to participate in setting up and manage some base and applied research project.
His activity is mainly performed in firms of the Primary sector as far as production aspects are concerned and in the Agroindustry and public organization for planning, analysis, control certification tasks. The graduate can apply for the exam for “professional order”.
