Overview
This programmes aims to train experts in planning urban territories resilient to the effects of climate change, with interventions directed at preserving the environment, reducing hydrogeological risk, creating and enhancing green areas to improve human health and well-being.
Urban planning and ecological-environmental skills are combined with intervention techniques for flood risk mitigation and on the design and management of green areas.
The integrated multidisciplinary approach targets the preservation or the reconstruction of ecosystem balances, considering the environmental and economic sustainability of such interventions.
Programme structure
The programme is divided into two curricula:
- Planning and Preservation of the Territory (PPT)
- Planning and Management of Green Areas (PGAV)
It trains expert planners with a solid knowledge of environmental factors. They will possess skils to promote the development of more balanced relationship beween the territory and its sorrounding environment and nature. They will promote targeted interventions capable of preserving and enhancing the already existing spaces, while guiding the creation of new living and usable areas, so as to shape a territory able to counteract the effects of climate change.
Career opportunities
Graduates works both in the public sector and private companies in fields such as applied planning, river engineering, geology engineering, agronomist, as well as to work for companies specialised in control works against floods and debris floods, management of parks, green urban.
In the public sectors, they can find employment in technical offices of cities, provinces, regions and reclamation consortium.
Students can also pursue their studies in Master’s degrees in subjects such as Applied Planning, Landscape Architecture, Forest, Land and Environmental Sciences, Science and Technology for the Environment and Land.
