Entry qualification | Bachelor diploma (or equivalent) A minimum three-year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) is required with proven skills in General Psychology, Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology, Psychometrics, Developmental and Educational Psychology, Social Psychology and in at least on of these subjects: Work and Organizational Psychology, Dynamic Psychology, Clinical Psychology. - For non-EU students residing outside Italy please check the relevant Call for admission - For EU students or equated or non-EU students residing in Italy, please check the relevant Call for admission (TBD) Please verify country-based specific entry title requirements at the following link. Overview
A programme that reflects upon the complexity of clinical work that will prepare students in three main perspectives: psychodynamic, constructivist/interactionist, and psychoanalytic. The training is based on the teacher-student exchange and on classroom exercises that range between research methodology and the theoretical models of understanding the functioning of a person’s cognitive, affective, social, and relational environment. Students will conduct psycho-diagnostic assessments as well as developing the evaluations needed to understand interpersonal relationships and psychological distress. Students will be able to work in areas of both private and public institutions of clinical psychology, child neuropsychiatry, family counselling, and services that offer individual therapeutic and supportive relationship care. Student may also pursue a profession career as a psychotherapist or as a consultant for local and administrations services.
Career opportunities
Clinical psychologist (with the possibility of becoming a Psychotherapist after taking a specialization course in psychotherapy). The clinical psychologist can develop his/her profession in the following occupational contexts: National Health Services (e.g. infantile neuropsychiatry, family counseling, SerD, and in any other health service where there is the opportunity to develop a therapeutic relationship and to offer individual support); Prevention Departments or Public Health Services and in any other structure where prevention programs are activated. More in general occupational contexts are found in the following structures: psychosocial and socio-sanitary services, family counseling services, mental health territorial services, public and private services concerned with assistance, research and social promotion. Furthermore, the clinical psychologist or the psychotherapist can work as freelancer, or as a consultant for local administrations and services.
